We are increasingly eager and yet anxious as our goal date for our first application draws near. Will the home study go smoothly? Will we be able to quickly gather our paperwork? Is our special needs list wide enough, too wide, honest about our abilities and resources? Can we really do this?? Like David, at night we will lay down our requests, and every morning we will look for the Lord's unfailing love. We will not hold back for some feeling of perfect readiness or promise that "we've got this" (ha!)- God Himself is our preparation. This is His work, and we will trust that all things are working together, that even now there is gathering strength for this adoption miracle. Maybe by posting this I will remember it myself when I am anxious about the coming whirlwind of applications, paperchasing, and home study visits.
Our dear friends welcomed their second daughter into the world this weekend. It's amazing to think that our child might be in the world this weekend, too.
